Australia Confirmed for 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA - In the continued growth of international box (indoor) lacrosse the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will welcome Australia as one (1) of its six (6) competing Nations. 

Over the last decade the domestic growth of box lacrosse in Australia has including training sessions, leagues, and most recently a lacrosse specific indoor facility. The resurgence has prompted interest to assemble an all-star cast of players from around the country to compete at the annual World Junior Lacrosse Championship. 

"Providing our young Australian players with the opportunity to compete in an elite international indoor event furthers the development of junior talent and prepares players for our senior teams" said Richard Benedierks former Australian National Team Player, Coach, and General Manager.

The Australian's athletic and physical style of play is perfectly suited for box" said Chris Fox Co-Chair of the 2019 World Junior Lacrosse Championship and General Manager of Canada. "We are extremely honoured and excited to have them compete."

The Australian squad is one (1) of three (3) new Nations that will join Canada, Iroquois, and United States at the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Ontario, Canada.
