First Three Quarters Too Much for Australia in Loss to United States
Four consecutive 3-plus goal runs proved too be too much for Australia in opening Group A pool play against the United States.
However, it wasn't until the 2nd Quarter where the United States established their dominance, scoring seven even strength goals, and added a Power Play goal for good measure.
Australia found their grove in the fourth quarter, tying the US 3-3, in the final frame of action. But the previous 45 minutes was simply too much to overcome.

The United States prove they had a balance offensive set with ten different players recording goals during the game. Australia can look to improve their shot totals from Game 1, having only recorded under 10 shots in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Quarters.
