IIJL Announce Hosts and Locations of WJLC into 2025

In an effort to better provide Member and Participating Nations with opportunity to prepare domestically for competition, International Indoor Junior Lacrosse (IIJL) is excited to announce the hosts and/or locations of the next four (4) IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championships.

In response to the postponement and reconfiguration of the 2020 and 2021 World Juniors, respectively, the 2022 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will be hosted, once again, by the Canadian Lacrosse League and will be returning to Winnipeg, Manitoba with a full line-up of Nations ready to compete for a gold medal.

As the first of many milestones in the five-year strategic plan, the 2023 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will be hosted by US Indoor Lacrosse in the United States. The 2023 World Juniors will be the first time that the championship will be held outside of the Canadian border.

The next milestone will be in 2024, when the 2024 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will take place in Europe. The IIJL will issue a request for proposal (RFP) and accept bids from qualified potential hosts in late 2021 and early 2022, respectively. The 2024 World Juniors will be the first time the championship will take place outside of North America.

Lastly, the five-year strategic plan culminates with the 2025 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship being hosted by Haudenosaunee Dehontsigwaehs in celebration of the World Junior Lacrosse Championship's 10 Year Anniversary. The World Juniors was first hosted by Iroquois in Six Nations of the Grand River in 2015, known then as the U19 World Lacrosse Challenge. Iroquois last hosted in 2016, also in Six Nations, when the championship was formally renamed the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship.
