Iroquois Announce Coaching Staff for 2019 WJLC

SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND RIVER, HAUDENOSAUNEE – The Iroquois are pleased to announce and welcome Brandon Francis, Cody Jamieson, and Wenster Green as the coaching staff for the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. Francis, Jamieson, and Green are decorated Iroquois players with a lengthy juniors, professional, and international careers and exceptional coaching experience.

"Iroquois players will have a world class coaching staff ready for the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Mississauga. Our coaching staff will consist of Brandon Francis, Cody Jamieson, and Wenster Green." Said Gewas Schindler, Iroquois General Manager. "I couldn’t be happier with the top level lacrosse knowledge that we have in place for this year's World Junior Lacrosse Championship." Schindler added. 

Brandon Francis, from Akwesasne, has represented the Iroquois Nationals at international championships twice; 2011 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship and 2003 FIL U19 Men's World Lacrosse Championship. Francis also competed in numerous Heritage and Bowhunter Cups. Francis' professional playing career spanned six (6) National Lacrosse League season, predominantly with the Buffalo Bandits. Francis amassed 244 Penalty Minutes and won an impressive 349 of 755 Face-offs, for a career 46.2% Face-off Win Percentage. Francis' best season at the face-off dot came in 2011 where he recorded a 62% Face-off Win Percentage. He was a part of the 2008 NLL Champions Cup winning Buffalo Bandits and 2012 CLA President's Cup Championship with the St. Regis Braves. Most recently, for the past seven (7) season Francis has been coaching the Akwesasne Indians of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League (OJBLL). 

Cody Jamieson, from Six Nations, has represent the Iroquois Nationals at international championships seven (7) times; FIL World Lacrosse Championships in 2006 London (ON), 2014 Denver, 2018 Netanya, and World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in 2007 Halifax, 2011 Prague, 2015 Onondaga, and will again at the 2019 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships this September in Langley, British Columbia. Jamieson will be entering his 10th season in the National Lacrosse League with the same franchise the Rochester Knighthawks, the team is relocating for the 2020 season as the Halifax Thunderbirds, who he led to NLL Champions Cup championships in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Jamieson has also won two (2) Mann Cup CLA Championships with the Six Nations Chiefs in 2013 and 2014 along with a Minto Cup CLA Championship with the Six Nations Arrows Express in 2007. 

Wenster Green, from Six Nations, represented the Iroquois Nationals at the 2015 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Onondaga and currently a part of the 30 Man Player Pool for the 2019 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships this September in Langley, British Columbia. Green was a member of the 2013 CLAX Creator's Cup Championship Iroquois Ironmen and the 2014 CLA Minto Cup Championship Six Nations Arrows. 

ABOUT IROQUOIS - The Iroquois IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship team is operated by General Manager Gewas Schindler.
