Iroquois Announce Coaching Staff for 2020 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship

Iroquois Executive Director Gewas Schindler is excited to announce the General Manager and Coaching Staff that will assemble and be behind the bench for the 2020 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Winnipeg, Canada. 

"In preparation for the year’s run for a goal medal we have selected Jason Maracle from the Tyendinaga Mohawk reserve." Announced Gewas Schindler Iroquois Executive Director. "Over the past several years Jason has been successful as the co-owner and operator of the Tyendinaga Thunderbirds of the Three Nation Senior Lacrosse League (TNSLL) for the past 5 seasons." Schindler added. "Jason is also active in the community through his support of Tyendinaga Minor Lacrosse Association and other grassroots programs." 

In addition to Maracle as General Manager, Iroquois have named their Head and Assistant Coaches. “We are very fortunate to have an elite coaching staff for the 2020 World Juniors and leading our players in Winnipeg." Said Schindler. "Each of the members of our coaching staff have represented the Iroquois Nations internationally and have years of experience in the National Lacrosse League (NLL)."  

An Assistant Coach with the Iroquois Junior in 2019 Brandon Francis, Akwesasne, returns in 2020 as Head Coach. (Iroquois Nationals and NLL - 2008-2012 Buffalo Bandits, 2013 Philadelphia Wings) 

Offensive Coordinator Brett Bucktooth, Onondaga (Iroquois Nationals and NLL - 2007-2011 Buffalo Bandits, 2012-2014 Washington/Vancouver, 2015-2017 New England Blackwolves) 

Defensive Coordinator Adam Bomberry, Six Nations (Iroquois Nationals, NLL - 2016-2017 Rochester Knighthawks, 2018-2020 New England Blackwolves)
